This painting was created almost two months ago at bootlegger day use area in Oak Creek Canyon. The Pocket Fire started just about 2 weeks after our trip there – it was really surreal to hear about the fire in oak creek canyon since we were just there. Landscapes can change so quickly from any type of natural disaster. I'm not sure if this specific mountain landscape was burned in the fire but it just made me appreciate plein air painting even more. It gives me the ability to capture a moment in time that we'll never have back.
