Frequently Asked Questions

If I want to commission an original oil painting, how do I do that?

You can send me an email (above) and explain the details of what you are interested in. If you have another piece of mine that you enjoy and would like something similar, be sure to mention the title of the piece and how big you are thinking. I am absolutely okay with making a painting for you even if you are unsure what you want. However, if possible, I would love to have a little direction as to what kind of things you like (color, content, etc).

How do you price your art?

I base my prices around multiple things: canvas price/size, content, detail, and time. I try to price my art as fairly as possible to customers but also to myself. If there are any questions at all about pricing I am completely open to talking about it with you, please send me a message.

What is a Giclee Print and why does it cost so much more than a normal photo print?

Giclee is a French term meaning “to spray”, referring to how an inkjet printer works and how giclee prints are usually produced. These large format inkjet printers use small spraying devices that can both match color and apply ink precisely, giving artists a high-quality print of their original art. It costs a lot more for this material and the printer itself so the prints are typically quite a bit more than normal inkjet prints. Additionally, the high quality of Giclees ensure that the prints will have a long lifespan.

How long does shipping take?

After an original work is complete and dry, it should take about 7 days (at the most) to get from my house to yours, depending on your location. Most paintings I send have gotten to the customer within 3 days. As for prints, it could take 2-3 weeks for a print to get to your house. This is because I have the printer send me the print first so I can make sure it looks good for your walls. After I check the piece, I will sign it and send it off.
