Our first day in Whitefish, we decided to wake up before dawn to head to Glacier National Park to get ahead of the parking there and start our day. We got to Avalanche Lake around 5:45AM and there was not one car in the parking lot. The hike to the lake was a bit eerie at that time of day but once we got to the lake itself, it was incredibly peaceful. After setting up and painting for about 30 minutes, crowds of people started showing up. By the time we left, the sun was just peaking over the mountain behind the waterfall here and I was so excited to capture that gorgeous glow in the distance.
