the vision

I believe art should capture not just how a moment looks, but how it feels—preserving it with intention so it can be experienced for years to come.

about kat

It was in the months after my own wedding, newly settled into life after college, that I was introduced to the world of live painting. After more than a decade as a commissioned artist, something about capturing a moment as it unfolded felt both natural and deeply meaningful. I took the leap—balancing live painting alongside my marketing career—until, just six months later, I chose to fully devote myself to this work. Since January 2024, I’ve had the honor of painting weddings full time, creating timeless oil paintings for couples who value artistry, intention, and a refined, meaningful experience on their wedding day.

I’ve always been drawn to travel as a way to experience new places, cultures, and perspectives. Whether exploring art-filled towns or exploring & painting quiet, scenic landscapes, I find inspiration in the details of each destination—the architecture, the light, and the feeling of being somewhere new.

I find endless inspiration in the outdoors, whether hiking or backpacking and taking in the quiet beauty of nature. One of my most memorable experiences was backpacking the Nā Pali Coast Trail in Kauai with my husband on our honeymoon—an adventure that deepened my appreciation for landscape, light, and the kind of moments that stay with you long after they’ve passed.

My mornings almost always begin with a cappuccino—a small ritual that sets a calm, intentional tone for the day ahead. I recently got an espresso machine so, as one might expect, I now drink lots and lots of coffee.

New isn't always better. I am a huge fan of spending the afternoon sifting through antique shops and secondhand stores for timeless, unique pieces and the charm they bring.

learn more about live painting

I’ve known for as long as I can remember that I wanted to be an artist. There has always been something deeply meaningful to me about translating a moment, a feeling, or a memory into paint—creating something that lives beyond the present and can be returned to again and again.

My journey into live wedding painting began while planning my own wedding in 2022. It was during that season that I fell in love with the wedding industry—the emotion, the beauty, and the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the day. I was drawn to the idea of capturing not just how a wedding looks, but how it feels—the quiet glances, the movement, the atmosphere that can’t be replicated.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of painting live for dozens of couples, creating meaningful works of art that become part of their home and their story. Each painting is approached with care and intention, thoughtfully designed to reflect the essence of the day and the people at the heart of it.

I believe that paintings should do more than fill a space—they should tell a story and evoke a feeling. My hope is that every piece I create becomes a lasting reminder of a moment worth holding onto.
